South Sea Pearls are pearls taken from a specific type of oyster which tend to be much larger than Japanese Akoya Pearl producing oysters. This type of oyster is found and cultured in the ocean area between the north edge of Australia to the the southern edge of China. These oysters can grow up to 12 inches in daimeter and produce large pearls from 9mm to 20mm!
